She has two children Ginger, Mrs. John Oriente and Dr. Chris Garner who is married to Shelby. Dianne has five grandchildren.

In 1992 she was given the South Carolina Secondary Art Educator of the Year Award by the South Carolina Art Education Association.  Dianne has had several shows of her work and has studied with many accomplished artists.
