H. Thomas Greene, a native and current resident of Shelby, NC has been an avid amateur photographer for more than three decades.

Although he has spent most of his career in the textile industry, a number of friends and professional artists encouraged him to turn to professional photography a couple of years ago. As a result, Tom has displayed his works in a number of private galleries and successfully began selling his works to the public. He recently had a showing at the Pennington-McIntyre Gallery at Cleveland Community College and currently has some of his work in the Circle Ten Gallery in Oriental, NC and at Buffalo Creek Gallery in Shelby, NC where Tom is a member. |

His photographic studies include venues ranging from the coast of North Carolina to the mountains, from New England to California and more recently to China.

Tom has studied photography under a number of professionals. He completed a Nikon School, a Digital Photography Course under Hal Bryant at Cleveland Community College, several classes with Dave Kelly of DEK Photography and critiques from Wharton Winstead, another professional photographer from Dewees Island, South Carolina.

His work has been published in the Shelby Star, the Charlotte Observer and Our State magazine. In addition to framed prints, Tom also offers a collection of greeting cards with his prints.

While most of his works are in digital format, some of his earlier works were 35mm film. He has the latest equipment from Canon and prints his own works to ensure quality control. |
